AM-41-8 to B-R8: Keep the wolf strictly protected! And make all member states respect its protection!
The following table describes the status, the proposer and other metadata of this amendment.
Draft text
Insert after line 41:
- Calls on the European Commission to stop reopening discussions about texts adopted during the Green Deal or before, which encourages the far right in the European Parliament to threaten all environmental legislation adopted during the last 30 years
- Calls on the European Commission not to modify the Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the Conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora, which also protects numerous species, natural areas and in particular Natura 2000 zones, which are today subject to lobbies' regular attacks
- We furthermore request scientific studies be carried out at European level on the cohabitation between livestock farming and large carnivores according to different territorial contexts and on the impact of current measures.
- We demand that substantial, permanent and systematic aid be implemented for protection of herds: training on the presence of wolves, their biology and ethology, on protection dogs, financial assistance for hiring and remuneration of specialised shepherds, for the purchase of electrical fences for the night, for the purchase and training of protection dogs, and all proportional non-lethal and defense systems.
