actions could lead to conditions conducive to genocide. The humanitarian situation has continued to worsen with catastrophic consequences. Meanwhile, Hamas has continued violence and to hold hostages, who must be released immediately and unconditionally. due to Israeli indiscriminate attacks on civilians and aid workers and the use of starvation, deprivation of water and fuel as weapons. All these practices, alongside with the enforcement of the siege of Gaza, the use of collective punishment, the obstruction of humanitarian aid, the occupation of Palestinian territories and the apartheid system in place in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, are highlighted by the United Nations Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories in its last report. The Committee also stated that the policies and practices of Israel are consistent with the characteristics of genocide.
Moreover, on the 20th of November the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the country's former defense minister Yoav Gallant and the Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least October 8, 2023 until at least May 20, 2024.
