Draft text
Insert after line 119:
Recognise the forced and unlawful dispossession of Palestinians resulting from European settler colonialism and Israel’s establishment;
Honour the responsibility to hold perpetrators of ethnic cleansing accountable and to ensure justice for victims.
Respect and protect Palestinians’ right to self-determination, which encompasses all Palestinians, wherever they are, and includes their right to establish and recognise a sovereign and independent Palestinian state;
Demand the end of Israel’s illegal occupation and settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as soon as possible, per the ICJ’s July 2024 advisory opinion, including:
The permanent halt of all Israeli settlements expansion;
The deconstruction of Israel’s wall in and affecting the Occupied Palestinian Territories;
The evacuation of existing settlements, which the ICJ found to be detrimental to the local Palestinian population and a violation of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention; and
Condemn Israel’s systematic failure to prevent or punish settlers’ physical, psychological and verbal abuse, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and acts of terrorism against Palestinians in violation of its obligations under Article 46 of Hague Regulations,Article 27 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and Articles 6 and Article 7 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
