The amendment brings the policy language, with reference to anti-Gypsy hate, in line with the Alliance Against Gypsyism, the European Network Against Racism, the European Commission, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, and others.
The addition of anti-Roma discrimation distinguishes between Roma and other Gypsy/Traveller groups which is especially important as Roma were a particular target during the Holocaust and are still a target for discrimination in some European countries.
This amendment has been agreed with the Chair of the Green Party of England & Wales Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Working Group (who will be a delegate at the Lyon Congress).
