CALL FOR CANDIDATES (8 Oct 2025)
The mandate of several EGP Bodies will come to an end in December after three
years. Therefore, the EGP Committee is calling for Candidates for the election
for three EGP Bodies at the 40th EGP Congress in Lisbon, 5-7 December 2025.
We are looking for:
- Three members for the FINANCE ADVISORY BOARD(FAB)
- Minimum 5 or maximum 9 members for the CONCILIATION PANEL (CP)
- 4 representatives to the GLOBAL GREEN COORDINATION(GGC)
In the background section below you can find short introductions for each EGP
Body.
How to submit a candidacy
- Each candidate must be nominated by a full member party and
- supported by at least two other full member parties.
- Each full member may nominate and support several candidates.
- Deadline for submitting candidacies: 4 weeks prior to the Lisbon Congress,
at the latest by Wednesday, 5 November, 23:59 CET.
- Candidacies, including a motivation letter, CV, photo(s), video
(youtube/vimeo of max 2 minutes), must be submitted here using the
respective links:
- The overview of candidacies will be made available here as soon as
possible after the deadline.
Please be reminded that the access to the active part of motion tool has been
programmed for the International Secretary and the nominated delegates of your

In Lisbon, we have foreseen a plenary session on Friday evening for brief
presentations of all the candidates, with the opportunity for Q&A.
Background
1. Finance Advisory Board (FAB)
The FAB will work with the Treasurer and the Committee to support the financial management of the EGP and can be asked for advice on all financial matters.
- The FAB consists of three members. You can find the members of the current FAB HERE.
- The FAB reports annually to the Congress on whether the EGP has acted in accordance with the Statutes and the Rule Book.
- For the full task description we refer you to the Rule Book (Article 5, page 5).
- The mandate is for a period of 3 years: from December 2025 until December 2028.
- FAB will mainly work with online meetings, 3 to 4 times per year
2. Conciliation Panel (CP)
The Conciliation Panel is an independent body of the EGP which supports Members, Committee and other bodies to settle disputes arising from any use or interpretation of the EGP Statutes or Rule Book.
- The CP shall consist of an odd number of members; minimum 5 and maximum 9 members who can serve for a maximum of three terms. You can find the members of the current Conciliation Panel HERE.
- Important: The remit, the composition of and regulations for the CP are defined at length in the Rule Book in articles 6.1. to 6.10 as well as in its Annex H: Procedures for the operation of the CP. Highlighting in particular the profile for candidates:
- VII Art. 7.1 Candidates for the Conciliation Panel shall:
- a. be a member of one of the EGP Full Members;
- b. be available and willing to act as a member of the Conciliation Panel in accordance with the Rules regarding the Conciliation Panel;
- c. be nominated by an EGP Member with voting rights;
- d. have knowledge of and interest in the European Green Party;
- e. have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment on an international level;
- f. not be an employee of one of the four European Partners or a member of the Committee.
- VII Art. 7.1 Candidates for the Conciliation Panel shall:
- Art. 7.2 The Conciliation Panel shall be balanced in order to avoid bias, which can be achieved through a proper representation of different points of view, i.e. members of the Conciliation Panel shall be elected taking into account:
- a. geographical balance;
- b. gender balance;
- c. age balance;
- d. balance as regards the level of development of a party (small / big and many / few elected representatives);
- e. juridical knowledge and/or background is preferred for at least one member of the Conciliation Panel.
- Art. 7.2 The Conciliation Panel shall be balanced in order to avoid bias, which can be achieved through a proper representation of different points of view, i.e. members of the Conciliation Panel shall be elected taking into account:

3. EGP representatives in the Global Greens Coordination (GGC)
The GGC consists of three members and three alternate members from each of the four Federations which make up our Global Green family – the African Green Federation, the Asia-Pacific Green Network, the Federation of Green Parties of the Americas and the European Green Party.
Hence, EGP can nominate three full members and three alternate members to the GGC. Two are nominated from the EGP Committee; currently Marina Verronneau and Rui Tavares.
- The Lisbon Congress will first elect the two full members and then the two alternate members from the member parties.
- In case of an insufficient number of candidates, the Committee may appoint the remaining members.
- The mandate is for a period of 3 years: from December 2025 until December 2028.
- The Rule Book articles 14.11 to 14.16 refer to the Global Greens.
- The GGC is the main governing body in between congresses, and it takes (political) decisions, adopts the accounts and approves the budget. The GGC meets once a month (last Thursday of the month). Both members and alternate members can attend the GGC meetings.
